Angels Fall First controls on Steam PC

Angels Fall First controls cover standard FPS infantry movement, lean-and-peek gunplay, vehicle entry, starfighter flight, capital ship stations, and Commander Mode map commands on Windows (Steam). Combined-arms sci-fi warfare — infantry, vehicles, fighters, and capital ships on planetside and in space.

Angels Fall First is a sci-fi FPS combined-arms wargame on Steam. Fight as infantry with budget-based loadouts, drive ground vehicles and starfighters, command capital ships with interior boarding battles, and play solo with full AI bot support up to 64 players.

This Angels Fall First controls reference lists default PC keybinds verified for the 1.0 release (July 11, 2026, App 367270). Rebind any key in Settings → Controls after launch. Pair with the beginner guide for first-match flow and the commander guide for tactical map orders.

AFF uses separate bindings for infantry, communications, and the tactical overlay. Space combat adds mouse-guided flight — the ship steers toward your crosshair rather than using direct WASD thrust like ground movement.

Heavy loadouts reduce sprint speed regardless of keybinds. If Shift sprint feels sluggish, trim Support-budget gear on the loadout page before tweaking sensitivity settings.

Movement and stance use familiar FPS defaults. WASD moves your character forward, back, and strafe. Space jumps over low cover. Ctrl crouches for smaller hit profile and improved accuracy. Shift sprints — note that heavy armor and AT weapons reduce max sprint speed.

Q and E lean left and right from cover without fully exposing your body. Lean pairs with material penetration on some weapons — peek corners before committing to a push.

LMB fires your active weapon. RMB aims down sights or activates scoped optics depending on the attachment equipped. X toggles fire mode on weapons that support semi, burst, or automatic fire.

Scroll wheel or number keys 1–7 swap between equipped weapons and kit items in your active loadout slots. Slot order matches the loadout screen layout: sidearm, primary, secondary, explosives, kits.

Z toggles the tactical flashlight on compatible weapons and dark ship corridors during boarding. H toggles HUD elements for cleaner screenshots or reduced screen clutter during capital ship gunnery.

Angels Fall First communication controls

Team coordination separates average squads from match-winning pushes in Angels Fall First. Voice and text channels cover server-wide, team-wide, and squad-only audiences.

T opens chat to all players on the server. Y restricts messages to your faction team. U sends squad-only text — use this for flanking callouts without broadcasting plans to the enemy.

C opens the command wheel radial menu for quick order requests and acknowledgments. B opens the broadcast menu for commander-level announcements when you hold that role.

G marks targets, locations, or enemy contacts for allies. Marks appear on teammate HUDs and the tactical map — essential for AT infantry coordinating against vehicles or boarding parties calling out subsystem rooms.

Following marked objectives earns Command requisition XP. Even if you skip commander duty, acknowledging and completing marked tasks accelerates your yellow budget growth on the requisition page.

Angels Fall First tactical map controls

Tab toggles the scoreboard — player names, scores, and faction totals during live matches. Use it between respawns to identify squad leaders and commander assignments.

Esc opens the full tactical map overlay. This is the primary interface for spawn selection, loadout changes mid-match, squad management, and commander order placement. The tac map shows deploy points, vehicle icons, capture progress, and order highlights.

On the tac map, left-click selects spawn zones or infantry loadout presets. Commanders right-click objectives to assign attack or defend orders to selected squads. See the commander guide for order types and bot behavior.

Spawn icons distinguish infantry landing zones, vehicle bays, capital ship hangars, and fighter launch tubes. On complex space maps, multiple super-capital spawn options appear — pick the vessel closest to your assigned objective.

Press Esc again or click Deploy to confirm spawn. You cannot deploy while over requisition budget — fix loadouts from this same screen before clicking in.

Angels Fall First vehicle and space controls

Ground vehicles use WASD for throttle and steering with LMB / RMB for driver and gunner weapons depending on the seat. Enter vehicles by interacting at spawn bays or accepting offers from the vehicle reward queue on the tac map.

Starfighters and bombers switch to mouse-guided flight: move the crosshair and the craft turns toward it. A sprint-boost button accelerates closure for dogfight engagements. Switch flight mode (configurable in Settings) toggles between assist and manual flight styles on space maps.

Capital ship stations — turrets, point defense, engineering panels — use context-sensitive Use prompts when you walk up to a console. Engineers repair subsystems from interior rooms; gunners operate exterior turrets without leaving the hull.

Acquire target (configurable bind) locks onto enemy infantry or vehicles for allied HUD tracking. Target acquisition helps allied pilots and AT infantry coordinate in space battles and open ground maps alike.

Boarding pods and EVA transitions use standard infantry movement until you breach the enemy hull. Once inside, Z flashlight and Q/E lean become critical for clearing narrow corridor intersections.
